I Know Jack………

Although I have never owned one, I’ve been lucky enough to ride a few different Victory models over the last couple of years, but they have all been the Touring oriented models, usually loaned to me by the various Indian and Victory dealers I have visited across Australia. So today when a good friend parked his very new Victory Jackpot on our drive and passed me the keys, I finally got to ride one of the more radical bikes that  found its way out of the Victory factory. There is no…

Triumph Bobber – Full Review

Since not everyone will be familiar with the Bobber concept, it makes sense to start with a history lesson. The term Bobber originated sometime in the 1930s to describe the end result of stripping your motorcycle back to the absolute essentials and shortening the rear mudguard, which gave it a “Bob Tail.” The front mudguard would be removed. Bikes of this era typically had no rear suspension (Hardtail) and sprung single seats. The end result was a lean, clean looking bike, the Bobber. When rumours and early spy shots of…

Retro Beyond Skin Deep

Its taken a few sleepless nights, the sale of a couple of much loved bikes, and a significant amount of patience, but it has all been worth it, because this evening I collected my 2017 Triumph Bobber from the local Dealer. Emotional Upgrade.

My Indian Roadmaster Lola and I have now covered more than 30,000 km, and I decided she needed a bit of a treat… Its worth pointing out all of my bikes have names. Before I took deliver of her, Lola was the only two tone Roadmaster in Australia and as such, she was proudly displayed by Indian Australia at several shows in the Eastern States. So this Roadmaster was a Show Girl…Therefore, Lola was an obvious name… It was fortunate that my desire to lavish some TLC on Lola, neatly…

Icon Merc Shaguar Jacket – Review

You can never have too many motorcycle jackets, so when the opportunity came along to purchase this incredibly striking Jacket from Icon it didn’t take me long to accept. It makes for a welcome alternative to the plethora of branded Black, Brown and Tan Leather Jackets hanging in my wardrobe, all of which are generally speaking far too hot for WA Summer wear. The jacket is really well designed and assembled. The material is soft, light and strong, and there is “ballistic protection armour” in all the right places. Its…

Spirit of 1901

Before I started my new life here in the South West of Western Australia I lived in the UK, where I had chance to work with a number of great Editors, Publishers and Writers. One of my regular contacts there recently kickstarted a brand new publication dedicated to Indian Motorcycles called “Spirit of 1901.” For those of us passionate about Indian, This is an exciting new venture, and I have been talking to him about not only providing some features and photographs, but also about circulating the magazine here in…
