The FTR1200 is Coming……..

This is some fantastic news that I have been waiting for…. It looks like finally we will see Indian produce something that is moving away form the Scout and 111 Platforms that have dominated their catalogue since the relaunch in 2014…. So today, Indian Motorcycle has put months of public speculation to rest. Today, at the Wheels & Waves festival in France, the iconic American motorcycle company confirmed that an FTR 1200, inspiredby Indian’s storied history in flat track racing, will be going into production. While a formal release date…

Dapper Gentlefolk…….

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) is a bit of an Annual Highlight. There is something about the sight and sound of so many Classic machines, accompanied by their Dapper Riders that really resonates with me. Its a spectacle that cannot fail to raise a smile. That taking part in the ride, also contributes to a simply massive worldwide fundraising effort just adds to the joy. This year, for the second time, I hosted the Busselton WA DGR and I was keen to build on the success of the inaugural event…

69th annual Bonneville Speed Week

This past weekend, Indian Motorcycle kicked off the 69th annual Bonneville Speed Week by paying tribute to its iconic heritage and the 50th anniversary of Burt Munro’s historic land speed record in grand fashion. The tribute was highlighted by commemorative land speed runs by Munro’s great nephew Lee Munro on a modified 2017 Indian Scout appropriately named “Spirit of Munro.” America’s first motorcycle company capped off the weekend with something that had never been done before – a moonlit screening of “The World’s Fastest Indian” under the desert sky for…

Indian 2018 Line Up Announced

A quick glance in my garage will tell you everything you need to know about my passion for Indian Motorcycles. Since their spectacular relaunch in 2013 the Model Range has steadily grown, and so has their following.  Like many Indian enthusiasts I am still keen to see the company expand the range beyond the Thunderstroke 111 and Scout platforms, but I am sure it will happen…. This year the Scout Bobber joins the range, and this is one machine I am very keen to see up close. As well as the…

I Know Jack………

Although I have never owned one, I’ve been lucky enough to ride a few different Victory models over the last couple of years, but they have all been the Touring oriented models, usually loaned to me by the various Indian and Victory dealers I have visited across Australia. So today when a good friend parked his very new Victory Jackpot on our drive and passed me the keys, I finally got to ride one of the more radical bikes that  found its way out of the Victory factory. There is no…

Happy International Womens Day

This is a single day for honouring the struggles of Women across the world for equal rights.. I have my own struggle, but that is nothing compared to the challenges faced across the Globe by the countless millions who suffer because they are Women. This is just one day to remember, to honour, and to draw attention to the fact that there is much that still needs to happen to bring about equality. Thank you.

Triumph Bobber – Full Review

Since not everyone will be familiar with the Bobber concept, it makes sense to start with a history lesson. The term Bobber originated sometime in the 1930s to describe the end result of stripping your motorcycle back to the absolute essentials and shortening the rear mudguard, which gave it a “Bob Tail.” The front mudguard would be removed. Bikes of this era typically had no rear suspension (Hardtail) and sprung single seats. The end result was a lean, clean looking bike, the Bobber. When rumours and early spy shots of…
